Folks, a great way to pay back what the river has given us....

    To Friends of Project Amazonas

From Friends of ROW- Rivers of the World

    Dec. 9, 2008

    Dear Friends,

For years, we have all enjoyed our adventures upon the Tucanare in Peru.
Albert, Devon and the staff do an amazing job! Well- what if we were to
build a larger ship? More space - but also a hospital capable vessel?
    Imagine it!

Project Amazonas, ROW, the Ministry of Health of Peru, and the
University of Mississippi Medical School have partnered to raise the
funds to build just such a ship! We come at this with a common cause,
    but different backgrounds.

You know Project Amazonas. University of Mississippi Medical School and
the Ministry of Health of Peru will do medical work! ROW, Rivers of the
World, is a faith based organization that serves world wide using rivers
as a way to get to people. We are a very broad based non-profit
organization with work in Cambodia, Vietnam, Congo, Kenya, Peru, Brazil,
Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Belize, and Honduras.
We do academic research, health related issues, nation building,
education, as well as basic Christian ministry.

Together we bring a multifaceted approach to the rivers of the Loreto
    Region!

The ship will cost close to $350,000 to build and will require $2000 a
month to house and feed. We need your help! ROW is handling the
book-keeping and fund raising for a great majority of this project. We
can’t do it alone and Devon has asked me to ask you to help!

Donations can be sent to our office made out to ROW with a memo that
it’s for the Peru ship and sent to:

    ROW

    PMB 64

    6625 Hwy 53 East #410

    Dawsonville, Ga. 30534

Or through PayPal on our web site at www.row.org <http://www.row.org>

    Hi Gecko,

Thank you for posting this. Could you please clarify your relation to this group (member of some group, website, etc) and how did you come across this (i.e. mailing list, email newsletter, forward from friend, etc.).

When money is being solicited, AQ has to be clear about it's association to the request.

Also, please edit the post, if you can, to use [quote][/quote] tags to differentiate your words and those of the letter. If you can't edit, let me know where to add the tags and I'll do it for you.

    Thanks.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Thanks Vincent and Benny for approving this post here in AQ.

I received this email from Ben, my email address was given to him by Devon of Margarita Tours: http://www.amazon-ecotours.com/expeditions.htm.

I (with Benny) was planning to visit the Amazon earlier this year and I met up with Devon to discuss the trip when I was in Florida. Although the trip did not pan out finally due to my schedule conflicts, we have since kept in contact via emails.

    Cheers
