    Hi,

    Need some advice here.

Out of the 10 Altums which I bought a year or so back, 4 are not growing well.

I believed they may be stunted. Infact, the difference in size between the biggest & the smallest fish is almost double. Recently, 2 of the smaller altums passed out white stringy faeces.

Is there any hope of curing these 4 altums ? or a gone case ?
How about de-worming, as in discus case ?

BTW, the fishes are fed on Tetra bits & frozen blood worms.

Any help & advice would be greatly appreciated.

use garlicguard from Seachem, or u can get the internal parasite medicine from Gan, mix with the food and feed to them.. they shldnt be stunted in yr 6ft.. prolly not feeding becoz of the internal parasite problem

the other reason would be the bigger ones are suppressing the weaker ones...

    Thanks for your input, Simon.

I'm now trying out Interpet internal parasite.

Will try to get something from Gan.

No, don't have a UV running.

Every fish got their equal share of food.
So in a way, the bigger ones are not suppressing the smaller.

    Hi ectan,

Some of Interpet's medication are not shrimp friendly. Check before you buy.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Thanks benny, for the caution against shrimps.

Not a problem here 'cause whatever shrimps I have all gone into the Altum's stomach leow. : (

Anyway I've fished out those affected Altums & put them in a hospital tank for treatment.

    Cheers
