Used to keep this fish while I was in secondary school 20 yrs ago, thought they're called American Flag Fish ?

A thread a few months ago asked about them. Do a search. I key point I remembered was aggression.

i got one 'so-called' american flag fish, but it became to aggressive for my community tank, now it reside in my fibre glass pond alone, still surviving without feeding him for a few months.. everytime I introduce guppies or betta, they end up dead

sometimes they come in with the feeder mollies. thats how i got mine in the first place. they are very aggressive fish. not recommended for community tanks.

thanks everyone for the tips. was actually thinking of getting it to clear algae in my community tank. guess not now! jeez, that's a pretty fearsome reputation for a fish that eats algae for a living!

Try SAE instead for they eat BBA as well.
