not sure what algea is that..
thinking of tearing it down but no time to rescape...
thinking of throwing my normal pleco in to eat the algea because I took out 3 meshes with german fern and it finished the algea nicely and revealed the nice german fern..

I think you should take the challenge. Try to clear the algae and write down your experience to share with us.

I guess air bubble increase surface movement, drive out CO2, plant grow stunned thus algae getting worst

    Hi,
I would clean the filter, do several larger water changes (50%), dump in a few dozen shrimps and wait. If the plants are hardy, dim the lights or turn them off for some days.

BTW, what is a German fern? I never heard of it, also I'm German.

    best regards
    Robert

The way I see it you have 3 options.

    1) Previously mentioned tear down the tank. Just give the darn thing away cuz algae spores gonna remain on wood, plants, soil, etc... even the glass. Start a-new.

    2) Sincerely try to fight the algae by first manually removing as much as you can, reading up on how to combat the algae - then experimenting with the different methods published.

    3) Make lemonade out of lemons! Invest in some cherry shrimp and start a cherry shrimp farm!!!!! LOLZ. Take out all the fish though. Then afew weeks later start selling the baby cherry shrimps.

Some advice though, I dont think regular plecos will eat this type of stuff. Even bushy nose plecos (supposedly best algea eater of plecos) may not touch this much stuff. Do some reading and decide which direction you want to take.

    nice bloom!!
u can try shrimps, GAEs, plecos (and not feeding them anything except algaes) as i have when algae (few kinds of algae btw) hits my 4ft tank. managed to save it.....

or to wash, dry and wait till u have time for re scape....

    good luck!
    cheers!!
when theres any doubt, theres no doubt...
