    Re: Telecredible's ADA 4Ft Tank.

Kenneth, I hope you have time to experiment these:

    Filteration
    Connection Arrangement
[Water Inlet]==[2028 unpowered and propeller removed]==[2028 powered]==[Chiller]==[CO2 Reactor, if any]==[Water Oulet]
In this way, you double the filteration media without doubling flow rate (may not serve well for this tank). The pump rate of 1,050 l/hr specified by 2028 will not be affected because the water flow rate down to both filters in series by natural gravity/siphon is greater. Agree?
    Inlet/Outlet Arrangement
Place both Inlet/Skimmer and Outlet together at one corner. Direct the Oulet to flow water along/parrallel to the back glass pane. In this way, the filtered water travels the longest path (picking up dirts and wastes) before returning to the Inlet/Skimmer. Also, the tank looks less cluttered by euipment. What do you think?

    Lighting
Your stem plants look a little leggy. To get more bushy and dense growth of them, put the light on for longer hours, 11~12 hrs. Light intensity helps but it is not the key. Long hour light allow plants to have leisurely growth. Short light hours rushes plants up for light (before they are turned off again, for long hours). Make sense?

    I hope you will try.

    Re: Telecredible's ADA 4Ft Tank.

I received requests to explain better, here you are:

    Filteration
    Connection Arrangement
To double the filteration media capacity without doubling flow rate:
[Water Inlet]==>[1st Filter 2028 (Do not power this filter, remove the pump propeller to enhance water flow)]==>[2nd Filter 2028 (Power this filter)]==>[Chiller]==>[CO2 Reactor (if any)]==>[Water Oulet]
    Inlet/Outlet Arrangement
    To maximise filtration efficiency:
Place both Skimmer and Outlet together at one of the back corner. Direct the Oulet to flow water to other back corner. In this way, the filtered water travels the longest path (one full circle) picking up dirts and wastes before returning to the Skimmer. Also, the tank looks less cluttered by euipment.

    Lighting
To get more bushy and dense plant growth:
Put the light on for longer hours, 11~12 hrs. Long hour light allow plants to have leisurely growth. Light intensity helps but it is not the key. Short light hours rushes plants up for light before they are turned off again, for long hours.

    From http://www.aquajournal.net/na/basics/basics_05.html

The light period of 8 to 10 hours per day is considered optimum for Nature Aquarium empirically. If the lighting period is shorter than this, aquatic plants don’t grow well or stem plants tend to get leggy. On the other hand, if it exceeds 10 hours, algae tend to multiply or aquatic plants stop photosynthesizing even when the light is still turned on

    How true?.... not sure
