probably not, why not just trim it, it will grow again.

Probably will do that... Just thinking to maintain the existing quantity though.

May I know what is H202?
Hydrogen peroxide, you can get it from pharmacy as Disinfectant
Should not use H2O2 for bolbitis it will damage leave. Just put your bobitis to a coner with out light BBA will disappear. Hope to help you.

black beard algae
for ferns i would agree with shadow, its easier to trim and throw them away. Trying to salvage existing leaves using h202 might damage the leaves. BBA usually requires spot treatment, thus you can't generally use diluted doses. Unless of course you mix about 5ml in 4-5 parts of water, 500ml and dose that. But that might lessen the effectiveness of using h202 in the first place.
Can you still buy Hydrogen Peroxide from pharmacies? It was supposed to be controlled and require a license to buy, store, use etc etc.

You know..can't have those pesky terrorists killing the BBA in their aquariums
don't worry it is only 3%. The limit is 20%, far below the limit.

I actually tried H2O2 on bolbitis, true enough the leaves were damaged.
But new shoots started to grow after that. Guess its better to trim off BBA infected areas.
Desert and Cactus...
so dangerous to use H2O2...
why do you say so?
Last time I have used H2O2 to my anubias, at the end the plant melting slowly...
how many % H2O2 concentration solution did you use? How do you use it? Normal H2O2 sold as disinfectant is 3%. It should not cause anubias to melt.
Oh, I forgot the concetration, maybe over >3% I think that"s why the anubias melt.
I spray it to the leaf directly.
anubias is very hardy plant. One time I use undiluted bleach to clean it from green spot algae. of course it is just a short dip.
So either the solution you use is too strong or you soak it too long.
yES, I think its my fault to give H2O2 too high concetrate.
Usually what i do when BBA strike
deprive my tank from CO2 and Light for at least 2 days. Duration of darkness depends on the species of plants cultivated in the aquarium
To make the darkness thorough, towel was used.
1. during the absolute darkness period, do 40-50% water change daily
2. increase the population of yamato shrimps
After the absolute Darkness period
1. 50% water change once a week
Effect:
within 2 weeks BBA turn light grey and eventually disappeared
Plants turn a little yellowish but within a few days it will recover.
