Someone PM me on.
Where is Bishan Aquarium -
Well, just to help, and I recommend because its fishes are suitable for planted tank. And it is never a shame compared to Nature, Biotope and etc.

My LFS got a whole load of coral red pencil fish in last month, and im pretty sure they're not captive bred.
Obviously im in England so it dosnt help you, but im sure you can find them if you look hard enough, and have enough cash! :P £7 each here!
Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.
that's explains why this breed is hard to find here...profit margins alot higher if sold to UK.

Yeah, the season's done fellas, time to make do with what you've got! Get em breedin!!
Please also PM me on the price of the coral red at Biotope.
Hi LeaderOfTeamSad,
Can PM me on those from C328? I'm living in the East side and I had no chance to bypass these LFS.
Thanks,
Steve Chua @ Reservoir
Today I went to visit Biotope. This is the picture.
I must say, the fishes are pretty much settled. In my experience, keep 1 male per 3 feet because the male is very aggressive and will try to kill another weaker male if you cramp them in 2 feet with little hideout.

Bought 2 pairs from Biotope. They are very stable swimming in my tank now.

Coral Red and Purple Pencil Fish are 2 distinct species.
Coral Red Pencil fish refers to Nannostomus mortenthalerri and
Purple Pencil Fish is an undescribed Nannostomus sp Red or Purple,
very similar to Nannostomus marginatus.
I bought the Purple Pencil Fish from C328 quite a few times already
last year. There's some at Midori so if C328 named it as Purple Pencil
Fish, it is Purple Pencil Fish and not Coral Red. But it is possible that
both are also at C328 as Midori also have both now at the same time.
Both are beautiful fish although my personal preference is the Purple
Pencil Fish. One key point that has been highlighted is that Male Coral
Red can be very aggressive towards one another. I have no problems keeping a group of Purple Pencils.
anyone know if they're literally jumpy and need a tank cover like bettas?
I think Red Coral do jump as my first ultra red pencil jumped to his death 5 years ago. Subsequent batch I bought from Kingfisher. They didn't live long (< 6months). So... I quit keeping Red Coral Pencil !
Btw, I stole the picture of Red pencil from Morgan01's avatar
