Hi , some of my friends cardinal keep dying in a bare tank. My cardinal are doing fine in a planted one.
    Does this has a difference?

Perhaps they did not adjust the ph and temp gradually, as they are the type that dun care abt ph shock.

GAN aquarium told me that all cardinal are wild caught?
    True or not??

Their bare tank is likely to be uncycled - meaning nitrates, ammonia etc are high.... planted tanks produce better water quality. Yes, virtually all cardinal tetra supplies are wild caught.

[:0] bare tank for cardinals? I agree with budak, cardinals are not like neons, they're more sensitive to water quality; and tetras usu prefer some shady areas too. do inform your friend about this. very sayang...

Essenially you should get your friend to read up on the nitrogen cycle. Cardinals and Neons are not known to be hardy fish and do not take nitrite and ammonia well.

Your own tank being planted helps as the plants minimize the effect of cycling by themselves consuming the ammonia and nitrites produced.
