    just visited Aro Pac today.

spoke to Ah Hong (Ah Hock?) there and he said that a high KH value is bad for arowanas. gives them respiratory problems. For this reason, planted tanks are not good for arowanas.

well, i like to hear opinions from fellow bros here, especially those who have kept planted aro tanks.

PLanted tank common KH is round 3-4, max 5, which is fine for the many soft water and southeast Asian fishes (including aros) kept in them. When people talk of high KH, it should be 6 or more, like tanks meant for African Rift Lake cichlids.

Interesting... cause aro-pac is in the process of setting up a planted aro tank, with CO2. Unless someone just gave them this info recently.

Anyway, the KH in my planted aro tank ranges from 4 to 7 degrees. No observable problems. He's lively and eating well. OTOH, that doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with him...
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

My Tank's KH is never above 4. 4 is still considered soft water.
Having some buffering capacity in a planted tank is good because it can buffer off any dumping of CO2 into the tank should the regulator fail.

Hey Vinz, any updated pics of your aro tank and RTG?
