    hi, i read in one advestiment that sells a kind of sand.. velco sand i think in classified ads in the straits times.. any comment on it?

    really no need CO2 one meh?
    any one tried?

    all plants need CO2
    tall plants, short plants, big plants, small plants, red plants, green plants, land plants, swamp plants, aquatic plants, it doesn't make a difference
    AFAIK plants don't have a well developed method of taking in carbon throught their roots

    in the first place, the fact that the advertisement plays on generalisations has already biased me against it
    2nd, even if the substrate CAN reduce the dependency of plants on CO2 (which i doubt, if anything, good substrates should make the plant hungry for MORE CO2), CO2 will always make an improvement provided your other nutrients are present

    I think what LeAnn saw was the volcanic sand.
