African Butterfly Fish are a surface dwelling species, and do not like much current, and like a planted tank, prefferably with a few floating plants for them to zip in and out of.
Butterfly Fish often will not take flake food or pellet food, and their favoured food is live crickets. Please be aware of this before you buy them
Also, they will eat any fish they can fit in their large mouths, and the will jump out of the tank if there is not a tight-fitting lid on top.
Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.

I would like to clarify that the African Butterfly will take flake food, pellet, bloodworms and insects. They will also take live brine shrimp.
I have 2 in my tank. They eat almost whatever i feed them, for flakes, I use tetra pro min and tetra min, for pellets, i use tetra bits. for BW, Hikari. Occasionally, i would catch those flying ants to feed them.
