Gan has the better cardinal tetra. Seaview ones are cheaper no doubt.

Gan a little out of the way for me unfortunately
that's no issue My fish only get premium food anyhow. I've had no issues with cardinals from Seaview. I've always bought the smallest ones and they eventually grow to jumbo size and are wonderfully coloured up.
I ended up ordering from C328
I was there last Saturday, the cardinal tetra are pretty small, cant remember the price,I think is 50 pcs $50 or $60,1 pc $1.40.
Love all,Trust few,Do wrong to none
Bought 50 jumbo cardinals from seaview before CNY for 35 bucks
Maybe I am old school. I tend to believe Gan has superior Cardinal tetras. His is factory direct I mean from Brazil, not from Taiwan nor HK farm bred. Correct me if I am wrong

Someone told me that cardinals are all wild caught. No one has successfully bred cardinals, unlike neon tetras...
experts, please advise

Bro!!!
Yes you are right, not heard anyone had any success in breeding cardinal's in Tank kept at home. If you want to try breeding Cardinal tetras you must provide them with ideal water conditions. Switch from flake food to plenty of live food and include fine leaved plants in the aquarium set up. The Cardinal tetra is a non-guarding open water/substratum egg scatterer that will prefer to deposit the eggs among plants. Over 500 eggs can be released in one spawning. The eggs will hatch after 24-30 hours and it will then take an additional 3-4 days before the fry are free-swimming. Really small fry-food is necessary since the miniscule Cardinal tetra fry can not handle large food types.
The fry are very sensitive to poor water conditions and you can expect very high death rates if you do not keep the water quality at supreme levels. Another threat is the adult fish. Since Cardinal tetras are non-guarders, they will not hesitate to eat eggs and fry. If you want to breed Cardinal tetras it can therefore be a good idea to set up a separate fry rearing aquarium.

I do believe that Gan has superior cardinal tetras If I had a car I'd definitely be getting all of mine from him (especially since I have a weakness for wild fish in general). Unfortunately, life's constraints has me buying farm bred ones instead.
I found out that Seaview's XL are the same price as C328, so ended up getting from there instead. Acclimitizing now

i actually think Seaview's are farmbred. It's hard to believe they can get such large supplies at such regular sizes all year round and wildcaught
hi guys,
do you all know where to get jumbo neon tetra? thanks~ i asked uncle @ c328, but he say not sure...depends on timing... anyone has a better idea?
thanks again
cheers,

If you don't mind keeping small ones in your tanks for some time, I find even the M size ones from Seaview end up growing to the same size as the jumbo ones. Hence, I believe that jumbo cardinal tetras are merely normal cardinal tetras that have been kept for longer and fed well. Instead of waiting, just get some M or XL ones and feed them well for a few months. You'll eventually get jumbos
cool... cos i was worried initially about the hardiness of the fish.
is it able to tolerate 100% water change everyday? i will be mixing them with juv discus.
thanks for advice illum~

?100% water change? couple with everyday?
Please don't do that if you value your lifestock.
100% daily waterchange is only done for bare discus tanks. With such tanks, there should be no tankmates. The discus can thrive on the water changes, other fishes won't
