I read in a PufferFish Webring that they feed ghost shrimps to pufferfish, but they probably meant the bigger ones..I'm assuming you're rearing Carinotetraodon travancorius (dwarf puffer). They grow up to 3 inches, and I don't think they will eat your shrimps, but the puffer might attack them. It's best to keep them well fed, so that they won't nip the fins of other fishes and maybe even not disturb your shrimps. A happy puffer shouldn't attack..in my own opinion..but then again it each puffer or rather fish, has it's own personality. I guess you could put some shrimps in and observe the situation.
I've reared them with my malayan shrimps, and it didnt bother my shrimps, partly because it was densely planted, but it died because my diy solution went in to the tank..
    Hope this helps.

Most probably.... esp if the puffer does not have sufficient food.... And if it has found out that the shrimps are easy snacks, they wipe all of them out...

sorry, i can't help but notice you'll still bite your yamato and rainbow shrimps..[]

Here are some comments by aquarists about their figure 8 pufferfish
Like what zac has said..they just might eat your shrimps. Or you can simply think, anything smaller than a fishes mouth, it'll try to eat it if it thinks it's edible..depends on temperament of different spieces of fish though..

    Read the link posted above...

I personally never recommend the figure 8 puffer for community tanks... some years back I went to a LFS and saw a tank full of these guys. The owner tried to convince me to buy them. When I told him they were aggresive he said they were not... Later, he decided to throw in 3 feeder fish to prove me wrong. In the end though, even I was surprised to find the 3 feeder fishes dead in under 10 seconds. 2 of them were bitten clean into half.

So no... nothing anyone can say will ever convince me these are peaceful community fishes. Pygmy puffers are much safer in my opinion.

Allen, I agree with you on the puffers. They are picky eaters and will often snipe at other fishes when bored. No more of these puffers till I get a much bigger tank.

    Btw, what are pygmy puffers?

    Allen,
Good point.. comments from other people, may be reassuring, but seeing is believing, and i'd rather go with that. Bitten off in half!
