This came in with the hemianthus callitrichoides and has been growing since. The texture on the leaves looks just like that of a cat's tongue, though I haven't felt to see if it's rough like one. When it pearls, it produces a huge bubble that covers the entire leaf. There seems to be only 3 leaves per root system, at least so far.

For size reference, that's glosso in the back and HC below.

Looks like a Salvina sp. stuck there. It is a floating plant.

After image searching Salvinia, I think you're right. Thanks for clearing that up!
It looks kind of neat mixed in apart from the very contrasting shade of green from the other plants, and hasn't been jostled out even from the heavy flow of the canister so I might just wait and see if it'll spread. From what I've read on it so far, it seems to grow pretty aggressively (at least out of water) so that might not be a great idea.. but we'll see. If it dies, no big deal.
Has anyone else tried growing it submerged?

if it is Salvinia, it will melt if the leave submerge.

With how well it was pearling and growing for over a week, I was a little skeptical that it would melt. But you were right, Robert. Pulled it all out yesterday because there were only a few leaves still looking good, but there's still some bits floating around happily up top. Pretty well-behaved as a floating plant so far. Thanks for your help guys
