I don't think so... I've had my ulvaceous flower in the past, and it definitely didn't die on me.
Help help!!!
My Aponogeton ulvaceus is flowering. I've cut away one flower about 2 weeks ago (the whole stalk) but my Aponogeton ulvaceus is back with a vengence. It now has 2 buds threatening to flower.
I have heard that once the plant flowers, it will die.
Is it true? So should i cut away the bud again?
I was actually hoping to see plants flowering in my tank but I don think i would want to sacriface the whole plant.
To cut, or not to cut.
Pls help. Cheers.

Thanks Allen.
any more feedback? In that case, i'll keep the flowers then.
the flowers will produce seeds if they aren't killed
might want to leave them there long enough for the seeds to form
Mine has flowered too... no death. I do hate the flower stalks winding its way all over my tank though.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
no deaths no deaths, but the flower stalk gets in the way of a lot of things. I have snipped away at least 3 to 5 flower stalks in the past 2 months already.
Thank you so very much, guys..
i'll keep the flowers then.. my tank is only 1.5 high.. so even the leaves are kinda getting into the way..
but still, i think this plant looks nice ..
will try to get some seeds!
cheers!
Hi guys,
here are some photos of my aponogeton ulvaceus flower. Enjoy!
thank you guys for your comments/advice.
Mine flowered like mad too. I only got it for 3 weeks now and this plant grow like weed..
When I got the plant, it seemed to grow from a 'chestnut' looking 'seed'. So are we saying that the small white flower will eventually change to a big seed?
Thanks.
The bulb you bought are not seeds. Those are tubers where they store their reserves. The farm probably trimmed off most leaves for shipping.

BC, help me understand. What is a 'tuber' and how is it formed? If it is not from flower, then what will the result of these flowers? Thanks.
