    Hi all,

I had this fresh water 'Red Lobster' (commonly sold in LFS) at about $3 to $5 each in my tank for quite a while. Currently, it seems to be sick Kindly can anyone provide me the undermentioned info. if anyone happens to know. Thanks.

    1) What is the actual name of this 'Red Lobster' called (so that I can go into Internet to look for more details)

    2) How come the Red Lobster is no longer feeding anymore recently ? I changed the Tank water every week to reduce the Nitrates in the water.

    3) Is there any good cures / medications for the sick lobsters ?

    4) What are the water parameters for rearing of such lobsters ?

    5) Please provide me any other informations / experiences that you had for this Red Lobster.

    - Your help is really greatly appreciated. THanks alot

    Worried,
    Marlin

I had similar problems previously when my tank is dirty and full of dead "feeder". That time i had tried many things to feed the lobster...from small dead cherry shrimps, cucumber, ghost shrimps, feeder catfish, plants and even sea monkey (aka brine shrimps) but to no avail....

Then I went to c238 and bought some lobster pallets...and do a 100% clean up my tank (remove all dead stuff...change 100% water and gravel and restart). They finally eat the pallets!

This time I can see them eat the pallets happily...hee

after I upgraded my lights to 2xT5, my lobster only comes out to eat each day after I off the lights. They typically hide under some shelter or hangs on some plants till the lights are off. (ehh... sleeping on their "hammocks?!?" )

Maybe it is eating when you go to bed?

Hmm that is a high possibility that they are so shy that they can ignore the food until you sleep...hee

My lobsters just took small bites on the pallets...haiz.
