if anyone interested, please give us a shout. On a serious note, there have been a lack of interest in the planted tank arena and if this continues with the trend.

I didn't even hear about it. Was there any publicity at all?
$100 just to enter the competition???
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Oh. Somebody didn't work hard enough

yeah I didn't heard it until today and when I check, it is too late.
Honestly I do not like the idea of "iron chef" kind of competition. First of all the ingredient was not supply. So unless you do 100x50x50 before, kind of difficult to judge how much plant to buy. Furthermore it is an additional cost to the participant . In other word team from LFS like colorful will have advantage, they have plenty supply of plants in the first place
I would prefer small tank competition, where you can bring your tank from home. It should be that hard to carry 1ft, 1.5ft or even 2ft tank. If not mistaken Aquafair Malaysia 2008 did that.
how about we sent a group representing AQ?
LOL! I smell something...

unless you have ready driftwoods or stones tied with moss, pellia, etc.
I think quite hard to get any nice mature scape.

if you are interested, I think we can help you
That is true. Furthermore you need to buy your own plant, gravel, rock, wood, fishes... you might spend another $200 - $300
I'm sure the organizer will extend the closing date to attract more participants. They do need X amount of $100 collected from the participants to give out the $1800 prizes... HEHE!
They probably need some time to arrange equipment for participants, thus the date line. Just my guess though
Aquarama competition is just too commercial. Nothing beneficial for non-commercial participants to compete with commercial participants.
I believe there will be a few sponsors if someone wants to represent AQ for this competition. Robert, want to give it a shoot?
