Zac, bought from Choon Suan?
It's also known as C. sp. cf. steindachneri
And yes, they were from Choong Sua.

eh.. C. sp. cf. steindachneri is different from C. macropterus so don't mistake them for being the same fish. the fish zac has is probably C. sp. cf. steindachneri. C. macropterus is slightly larger with a lighter body colour. at first i thought they were C. macropterus but after looking through my Aqualog, i think they're C. sp. cf. steindachneri.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
i think they are C. sp. cf. steindachneri, C. macropterus "nose" looks sharper----------------

So any common names for this fella???
Or do I have to call it a high fin , long fin paleatus??
Michael Lim
My Flickr site
if it's Corydoras steindachneri, the common name is Steindachner's Cory
if it's Corydoras macropterus, the common name is Hi Fin Peppered Cory
well since they're C. sp. cf. steindachneri, the commonly used named would be Hi-Fin Paleatus following the aqualog.

ahaha
not important lah
looks nice can already
anyway, i prefer short fin, short nose cories
Selective bred Corydoras Paleatus, the common Peppered Corydoras.
I really hate breeders that do this, we have 155 described species with out makin gour own.
Please do not buy them, tell the store owner they are not true Corydoras, anything just try and stop the trade.
Zac, how much does it cost. Mine has dwindle from 5 to 3 now.[]

Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
Hi there,
just confirmed recently from Planet Catfish's Ian that these are long-finned varieties of C. Paleatus. And I got them at $12 each... Not a price I'd pay had I known earlier that these were man-made... But anyway, the stocks at Chong Sua were left with only weaker ones, thus I'd advise you not to get them.
But I've heard that C328 has some, conditions unknown.

Well, this is a difficult thing to do. Try telling the LH owners that their fish was man-made and non-existent in the scientific database, you think they'll bother??----------------

And the way these cories are bred, they do really look attractive.
And for your info, I've seen some pics of this species from as early as Jan 2002. So this has been around for some time already.
Here is the site and check the date on the photo credit :

I knew of their existence some time ago but you do not see them very often.
I like the comparison to LH, another fish I would not even bother to eat let alone keep.
ehh
it's ok with me
i wouldn't personally buy them, even if they ARE wild species with naturally long finnage
the point here is everyone likes different things
just have to accept it + that other people might not agree with you
looking at it from a pragmatic point of view
people rely on selling fish to make a living
they don't really care whether the fish is natural or selectively bred
so...
to each their own, really
