    Hi All,

I bought some Congo and they are those with a more pronounced blue band on their body. When I visited Bioplast I saw their Congo with a more pronounced orangy band instead. Are they different strain of the same species or different in sex?

same, usually they have 2 shining streak of orange and blue, sexing is usually ID by the fin extension at the dorsal and caudal fin.. the orangey portion is usually on the upper portion of the body, the bluish/silvery is on the bottom portion

check our gallery for Phenacogrammus interruptus /Congo Tetra

    Hi Simon,

Forgot to ask. The last time I asked how long the colour of Congo will be at its best. I am wondering, after learning from Simon that the male has long caudal and dorsal fins, how long will that take to develop? I have some that are 1~2in long but their fins are not fully developed, does that mean that they are female? I saw in LFS, some my size already have beautiful fins. It will be sad if all of mine are female as I read they are less colourful.

Secondly, like to know from anyone beside Simon; does anyone know whether the fishes in Qian Hu, labelled as "yi sian fei hu" SAE. Looks like SAE to me and I bought 3. Previously I bought Flying Fox mistakenly and I am now sceptical about my conclusion after being told by their staff they were flying fox. Please help as I still have difficulties telling them apart after reading a thread talking about it.
