what am i suppose to have for the tds and gh and kh? my kh and gh very high around 12 my tds also very high 400+ and my ph is 7.0
anyone has any idea what the blue fins means? cause my L46 has blue fin but supposingly the water parameters are quite bad now. so how is is possible that the L46 displaying good colours?
blue fin means healthy?
your water parameters are okay. they are tough fishes and can tolerate high variations of conditions. even hard akaline water.
for them more important is to stick to recommended temperature.
ONLY Blue Zebras.
oh my temperature is at 32 for most of the day.
After one year of waiting they finally bred for me!!! I was shock to see two ottos in my tank one day when I only have one inside. Thats until i realised that it was a L46 fry. So i went on a search and found three of them under a cave created under a cave, cuddling together. I also found another 2 locations where they are hiding, but i cant do a headcount. Too well covered and its beside the alpha male cave. However, i also realise that the beta male is constantly lurking on top of the alpha males cave. While the female is occupying the beta's cave. The fries are already free swimming and zooming around, around 1.5cm
congrats on your spawn!

I'm sure your wait was worth it!

The alpha's cave quite far from the beta's, dont know what they were trying to do. However, they have separated for now, so should be quite safe. I flipped the entire tank and only found 6 fries, one got sucked by the filter and passed on.
I will try to post some photos when i get my hands on a camera. haha i dont have one. and my tank setup is different from how it use to be, experimenting over the pass one year.
anyone has any idea how i can view my pleco at night? is it true that by using a blue led, the plecos would not be spooked and would behave normally as though the light was switched off.
Bro, congrats on your spawn!! Keep us updated on your fries...
Hey i manage to get take some pictures but have yet to upload to my computer. anyway my zebs are getting it on again! the alpha male is trapping the female right now!
Congrats bro. wonderful pleco breeding, hope more coming.

i wouldn't say that they are hard to keep, just regular water change, i only do weekly water change for mine.
but its not that easy to breed them, it really depends on their mood
L46 count-17 pieces
Nice tank setup & fishes.
