Optimal conditions for best hairgrass growth

hi,

my yamatos have been gobbling up my jpa hair grass faster than they can sprout out of the soil.

can anyone advise me on the optimal conditions for the growth of hairgrass so it can as least grow as fast as they consume them?

I highly doubt you can grow hairgrass faster than a Yamato can eat (they have really big appitite).
Then again, first time I heard of Yamatos chewing hairgrass in such a hurry!
