Hi,

I've just gotten a pair of "African Upside-Down Catfish" from my neighbourhood LFS. Although I have kept fishes for >5 yrs and have ready access to species resources... I'm still stumped at what I just bought [] Stupid mistake... the LFS owner said it's some African Catfish which he specially ordered for another customer but there was spare.

It's approx 3 inches nose to tail and jet black in colour with random white specks along the length of its body. It has the typical Synodontis sp. shape and has 4 pairs of barbels. All its fins are opaque black in colour and it has large eyes set on a large head.

Something tells me it's a Angel Catfish(Syn. Angelicus) but upon further comparision, the colour of the fins dun match the online pix (Opaque black vs. striped translucent)[] Can anyone help me out here?

Any reading material suggestions or URLs with pix would be greatly appreciated [:]
