Well, My cardinals also behave like that when they r in almost complete darkness which mean sleeping. But they keep their nice coloring throughout the whole day during daytime
Hello Guys, any oe has any experienxce with keeping the colour of cardinals bright, luminous & nice. So far,my 3 batches of cardinals that I've bought look fantastic when seen at LFS but after a few days at home, their colour begin to fade. The red & blue band looks a little mottled. I've also noticed that they are very pale when lights are off & start to regain their colour when lights are on (very much rummy nose tetra). Don't think they are stress, cos the rummy noses & the rest of the fish in the tank are doing well. Water condition is OK. The tetras are also very active & feeding well.. just the faded colour. What's wrong here? I've also noticed the same phenomenon in some cardinals at certain LFS.
What do you guys feed your cardinals to keep that brilliant colur? []

my cardinals have no problems whatsoever. maybe it could be the food that you're feeding, water temp, or ph.
