So thats why your blyxa japonica in your pictures are only at 'first level'. Mine grew taller and taller, became a ball and i wondered why yours are so nice, creating a beautiful border.
The best part of the plant like B. Japonica is the top. Cut and plant the top back into the substrate. Alternatively, trim like hair grass.
Finally, see which one method works better for you and you decide from there..
