    omg is that fine sand?
    how did he make half the tank sand and the other gravel? using a divider?

    Simon: Any reason in putting fine sand? To prevent plants from growing there? Any base fert beneath the fine sand?

    BTW - the tallest plant is Star Grass?

    cardinal: yes, that is fine sand

    KF: yup, u guess it rite, I wanna have that area open.. no base fert, the sand is too fine for anything to grow on them

    the tallest plant is the Eriocaulaceae sp(stargrass looklike) & the R. macrandra 'green' var

    How much does your CO2 system for this setup cost? I started having some taiwan moss in my office tank about 3 weeks ago but I hardly see any changes so I'm thinking I should use CO2 to kick start the process.

    Question, is that cotton sewing thread you used to tie the java moss? The last time i used thread(not sure about material), it didn't rot off like it was suppose to...is it suppose to?

    i think it takes a long time before that will happen, if the moss has completely covered the wood, u can remove the thread
