I'd like to share some simple photographs taken from Mandai zoo.

My gear this time is nikon D200 paired with nikkor 50mm f/1.4
The weather was a mix of morning showers, cloudy and sunny day.

This one primate came over (begging for food perhaps) is quite chubby... probably too much to eat

Group of otter usually is quite lively and noisy. But not this morning as it has been pouring, they stay yawning and lounging around.

    And comes the morning sun...
Here is a pic taken from underside of some shrub (no idea of the ID). The ray result in nice hue-glow-silhouette effect and too good to miss.

Testing close up pic on the lens. A white flower of some plant (it actually looks like something familiar out of a planted tank)

    They are otters, not beavers.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.

One more from inside the fragile forest

Duck sleeping. It is kind of amusing how they balance folding one leg and the head while taking a nap..... on a log.

Love the first shot. And you manage to get it on 50mm too. By the way, why do you bring such short lens to the zoo - just curious?

    Re: Visit to the zoo

    @luenny,

Well... to test out my new lens of course. I know it might not have the versatility or proper zoom lens (I also have this nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 ) to take some of the animals, but I proof it as good enough.

One thing I love about the zoo is not only how the animals are displayed, but also about how the park is made. Trees, shrubs and flowers are plentiful.

Anyways, the same duck after disturbed from its nap
(I swear it woke up just by me being around)

A mousedeer, also sleepy (many animals seems to be in sleep mood that day)
