I think the Japanese calls this one "tiger Oto", but our local LFS calls it "spotted oto"
By the way, this fish is about 1 cm long.
Anyone knows more about this fish?
Cheers,

Thanks for the compliments. To be honest, once this fish stays still, it's really easy to shoot. Your G3 will produce an image exactly like mine if you can be bothered. Waiting to see more of your pictures.

bene: what camera you have? digital too?
The latest Tropical Fish Hobbylists magazine introduced a new species of otos. It has leopard spots skin. No name given yet.
Benny, that's ur tiger/spotted/leopard/ oto? Did you use a black dropback or its the work of photoshop? It's a very nice picture!
Sorry to hijack, but since this is titled "Otos"...
Just in case anyone was interested, Juvenile Otos spotted at Bishan pet junction(blk 513) All of them are about 1 cm long and busily grazing the gravel, wiggling their behinds.

The picture was taken in a 2 ft tank (not planted) with black oyama background paper. Too troublesome to use photoshop to edge out the subject and put on black background. So use this easy setup instead.
Gan's also have a new batch of otos, seems healthy. They are "gold" in color with sharper nose than usual.

Eeerr, setting up one whole tank just to take photos of a fish?
Now that's what i call amateur professionalism! I'd think edging out the fish is easy, if you have one of those "Pens". It'll just be tracing out the outline, and doing a little touch up.

You good with photoshop? Can teach me? Tried reading manuals but confusing. Effects are no good.

Oh, icic, phototaking/new arrival/hospital tank?
I'm no good with photoshop, i only know how to etch out objects, experiment around with the functions and do one cheesy effect. I didn't even dare start on the manual.

thinking of getting 2 next week...they're the finest otos i've ever seen. Do they need a matured tank? Or just a newly cycled one would do fine? Any ideas?

well.. for most fishes, esp. sensitive one such as otos, it's better to keep them in a matured tank....
