E.tennellus need strong lights and good iron source to grow low and red.

does dosing Iron increase algae ? will it make tenellus red?

Usually if no Iron is dosed, the tenellus will appear greenish in colour. As long as the tenellus are spreading runners, it is healthy. What you can do is to dose Iron and monitor the plant, it should turn a bit reddish in the middle of the leaves. Good luck in planting.
