    Where did you get that?

No it does not make your water cloudy. It is suppose to help trap floating leaves/other detritus and break the oily looking layer that forms on the water surface of planted tanks.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Hi Tranquilizer, I've tried and trailed a piece part surface skimmer for my 3 footer and 6 footer tanks and they all works well. The skimmer mainly takes care of the protein deposited on the water surface due to feeding or our limbs soaking inside the tank. Debris floats to the water surface will also find their way into the skimmer.

With a clear water surface, you'll have brought your tank back to standard aeriation requirement.

Some may say, in this condition, would escape into the air more fervently. But, alas nature has it such a way that one could hardly ask for too much sometimes....With the current technologies available, one can adjust your CO2 feed in accordance to your tank's CO2 indicator and PH reader.

So mine has not given me any problem

    Cheers
