    Hi everyone, have a red sword,it is quite big taking up 1/4 of my 1 feet cube tank.Been wanting it to have flower stalk but so dun have yet.Can someone tell me the condition needed for the sword to have flower stalk?

    hi ken, I believe thats 1/5-1/8 of the actual size these sword can grow too..

    strong light, good nutrition. on a side note, my madagascar lace plant is flowering.heh
    (and its just 2 weeks since I bought it).

    First of all, what sword is it? there are only a couple of red sword varieties and all grow to become monsters and will confirm out-grow your 1' tank.
    If you have a E. rubin, you will have a hard time coaxing it to flower. If you have a Echinodorus rose, then you will need to let it grow to its full size (>1.5 feet tall) before it will flower. Unless you have a E. ozelot (red with spots), which is quite prolific.

    So what do you have?
