Seems like sunlight is the best. Or nutrients again playing a part?

The Salvinia as we saw at Teo Farm:

When put into our tank, the new shoots are smaller. Almost can't tell it is the same plant. Compare the size with the mother plant next to it.

Anyone manage to get big size Salvinia in home tanks?

Both! Salvinia does very well under direct sun and the more nutrient available, the happier it is and the bigger & greener it gets.

If there's lotsa room to spread laterally, the leaves unfold and gets kinda flat. It's also unfolding so that it receives more light. Where the water column is low in nutrient, it'll look quite pathetic... like a under-nourished child.

In my dump tank where it receives direct afternoon sun for about 2 hrs, these floaters grows like weed and fighting for surface space with water lettuce.
