    V. spiralis is very easy or undemanding plant.. I may think that yr water conditions aint quite to their liking. if your's is the corkscrew then they require hard water compare to the rest of the val family, plus more light.. r they melting?

is it like they simply melted away ? turn brown and very soft ?? I've the same problem too. All my other plants which are supposed to be more demanding in terms of light and co2 like egeria and ludwigia are doing very well but somehow my tenellus and eelgrass just wilt away.

hmmm... had to get rid of my vals cos it was to much trouble maintaining them. New shoots were propping up here and there.

    200L tank with 204W
    ph - 6.6
    kH - 3
    temp - 28~30
    Cheers!!

Most likely u buried the val too deep. U must leave the crown exposed. I have experienced the rot before and after I pulled the plant exposing its crown, everythings fine.

Leann: hahahah... your reply is most mysterious.... I really don't get it? kinda makes me think of star wars, that little green chap who goes like "feed the fish, we must. have lighting, we will..." few words with deep meaning...

sherchoo : you have 204 W for your tank? I"m green with envy!!! :O)
