    Hi Guys,

I am thinkig of getting A hob filter as a secondary filter for my planted. My question is or rather are

    1. Would the water surface movement cause CO2 to be dissipated?
    2. Where can i buy aquaclear HOB filter?
    3. What aquaclear series should I use for a 45G tank?

    Thanks a lot guys.

It really depends on the size of your tank, for a 45G , I think you would have enough vol to afford some CO2 loss, if it is a 1ft tank, then the loss will be more (this is base on my observation).

I am using a HOB filter as a secondary filtration for my 50G tank, my CO2 is 3 bps and the CO2 is between 20 - 30 ppm. I have tried 2 bps and it drop drastically, so I guess there is certain amount of loss caused by the HOB.

I am actually using a Atman HOB which has a surface skimmer.

I read on the internet that Hagen Aquaclear is the best. However, no one brings in to SG apaprently.

Is Eheim Liberty good? It seems there's not a lot of space for media?

what are you keeping in your tank and what is the purpose of this secondary filtration. How reliant will you be on it, for me , I am using it only for the surface skimmer, so the media vol is secondary, having said that, My Atman can put in quite a bit of media, I have JBL Symec and microtec in it.
