Thanks pipsqueak!
I'm from s'pore poly.....
Wish they allow me to do a project on planted tank back then. Too bad I am in electronic engineering .
So did the school pay for the CO2 setup and the flter?
Hi LLC...
This projest is from the "tools box fund". So wat ever we buy , the sch will pay for it....So far we've spent pretty a lot of money.....
Wan to come over to my department to take a look?
I'm from BE, the fish tank is at W511.
errr.... the thing looked alright until the 12th week.... as for later... that was a real mess...

hi,
what was the objective of the project. i could infer only 1 - comparison between canister and diy co2. good growth on the plants. any algae infestation?

Hi,
The objective of this project is, to find out how cost effective it will be to use DIY co2 to grow plant. Also, will the inconsistance of the DIY CO2 will affect the water parameters as compare to the canister CO2.
So far the tank is algale free. perhaps we do water changing often.
Thanks for the invitation. Too bad I got to work during office hours.
so u like to write a report and post the result in AQ?
Hi simon.
But the file is pretty big.So how could u advise me ?
how about a summarize version?
brother i i hope they don think our tank is ugly...hahahahah take care seeya
Hi simon....
I try to send it over to ur email account.
So can anybody tell me whether Canister Co2..produces a much better growth and colouration than DIY co2??
Thanks
Joachim
Assuming DIY CO2 is good enough to achieve a CO2 level of 20~30ppm, the difference will lie in whether the DIY CO2 can keep up a constant CO2 supply. DIY CO2 will taper off toward the end. If one is dilligent in keeping the constant CO2 level and have cascaded yeast bottles, you should not find a difference.
The problem with DIY CO2 is the decline of CO2 level at the end of a mix. When there is insufficient CO2, one may find algae problem like BBA.
