July 16, 2009; I went back to visit the swamps & rivers of Johor again.
On the first day, we revisited the home of Betta persephone & Betta bellica. The swamp was dried up!!! We hardly could catch anything there! Only managed to get 1 Betta persephone & 1 adult bellica with a few young one! We picked the wrong time to visit this swamp....

The following day, we went to visit the habitat of Crypt. sp. "Kota Tinggi". This Crypt. is a variety of Cryptocoryne nurii. We were shocked when we reached there......the road widening project in that area almost destroyed the habitat!!! The water is so polluted that most of the leaves are melting!!! No idea what will happen next.....
Clearing for road widening project.....
The water is polluted!
