Looks much nicer. But cabomba always gave me a headache, the leaves always get stuck in the filter.

better, but why only on the right side, give a little unbalance look. Unless the plants on the right side can spill forward to the right front corner.

IMO, Combomba doesnt your initial idea of trunk-like wood and nanas. How about a lot of crypts!!? You can probably put a Echinodorus sp nearer to right back corner?

Others, some lobelia, which look like bigger version of glosso will match your glosso carpet as well.

Hippo, there's only one thing I can say about your tank.

    A true masterpiece.

Btw, how much light you have?

Personally I think the uneveness add beauty to the arrangement. (Although I think
the root structure should have been placed off center in the first place). Maybe
adding a unique "look-at-me" plant somewhere in the right third of the tank in
front of the background might add to the tank.

Very nice job on the tree root though.

    hi all,
thanks for all your encouraging comments. will def take into acct your suggestions. as for why the unbalanced planting, it was intentional. i prefer less symmetry. want to achieve the effect of having the right side blossoming more than the left. will prob have more slow growers (coloured ones) on the left.

one thing to mention, cooling fans have helped me alot. i have 4x36W PL light and temp was initially 30-31C. With 2 computer pwr supply fans, managed to bring the temp down to 26 - 27C. Now my taiwan moss and tonina looks better [:]

yup, looks better... i think before you do anymore changes, let the plants settle in a bit more. then you get a better feel of what has to be done if any at all. Fans are great... i fully agree...

I think the tank looks very nice, got the childhood type of Papa Smurf and fantasy stories feel.

Very nice...has the enchanted ancient forest effect. How about some broad-leafed species in the background or corners?
