I bought the aquazonic too. The tube says 12000K and definitely looks bluish/ purplish (in order words - very cool daylight) to me. That's why I change one bulb to 6500K which looks warmer comparatively.

Interesting, my 4x54w light set also states 12000K but it looks more white. Is colour a good indication of colour temperature?

I also have Aquazonic light set, I replace 2 of the light bulb with OSRAM 8000K and I do see the different. 12000K much whiter. so the kelvin should be true.

Just curious, where did you get your 8000K bulbs? I don't find it in the general hardware store and the local LFSes are waaaaay too messy to find anything.

mine is 3ft Aquazonic, the light bulb come with it is also 12000K. Maybe I should not use brighter, should use whitter. The lumen is about the same, it just give you brighter impression because of whitter? does it make sense or did I confuse you

Bought my OSRAM 3ft 8000K 39W bulb from NA last Saturday...go fast-fast before it gone
