Liquid Fert...

hi...

what will be a "complete" liquid fert for a tank...generally.
am using sera florena now and dun mind getting another or two liq fert to compliment it. Not too good in the science of fertilising.. do advice. Thanks.

will be good if include the LFS to get it if it is some unique fert. appreciated

Most liquid fertilisers supply Fe and traces. Some ferts in this category are:
Sera Florena
TMG
Seachem Flourish

These liquid fertilisers supply the miconutrients for plants. If you want to supplement that, you may want to look into the macronutrients: NO3, PO4, K, Ca & Mg.

These are available from hydroponics supply like Dr. Mallick's.

Alternatively, you can use Seachem Flourish Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium.

I'm supplimenting with K2SO4 now cos my MMs are showing signs of K deficiency - (from theKrib) dead areas appear in older leaves and new leaves are reduced in size and leaf area, looking a bit 'singed'.

I feel that u wun need to add anything extra unless ur plants are showing signs of deficiency or if a particular type of algae has taken a foothold in ur tank (indicating surplus of a particular element).

do those root boosters stimulate plant growth? was told by one of the LFS owners that they do.. any one has tried and can verify to this statement or issit just another of their earn money tactics?

Dun add anything into your tank especially you just started your tank. Let the plant establish themselves 1st. Last thing you want to invite is an algae bloom....

I am dosing K2SO4 together with TMG as I notice my plants especially older leaves showing signs of yellow spots in the middle of leaves...I guess that is the tell tales signs of potassium deficiency.....

From what I cater, potassium acts a catalyst to promote good plant growth. We shall see...[]

TMG is quite balanced but short of Ca and K. To suppliment TMG, I use K2SO4 and Seachem Equilibrium. This should cover most of the plants requirements.

But what I want to know now is whether your plants showing any signs of deficiencies/problems?

Most pple use these root boosters for large solidarity plants. e.g. Nymphaea zenkeri.

Personally, I've tried root monsters with mixed results. It gave a significant boost to the E. tenellus in my low light (1.5W/G) cory tank - i have another control patch w/o. root monsters in the same tank. Added some under the MMs in my high light (4+W/G) tank but no visible improvements were observed.

May decide to use it for the Barclaya u bought for me very soon (if i still dun see any growth).

have been using flourish but must try tmg when my stock of flourish run out.

see the content, its printed on the bottle.. think TMG has high FE but low K, florish, i cant remember

plants are generalli fine... but those at the back are a little slow..compared to the ones slightly in the front of the same species. am using a FL at the back and a PL in the front. can the difference in light be compensated by adding root booster to the plants at the back?

doubt you can compensate lower light with more nutrient. light is to provide energy to plants while nutrients is to provide the building blocks to manufacture more plant materials. plants can't make use of the additional nutrients if they do not have sufficient energy.
