    Hi all

Just wanna ask is the reproduction of frogbits got anything to do with the quality of the water? Why I ask is because recent couple of months, I change my routine of changing water resulting in my tank having cleaner water but my frogbits got hardly reproduced.

But my office shrimp tank a bit dirty but the frogbits reproduced very fast. Is it because not enough nitrates for the frogbits to absorb and grow? ..oh...yeah....just to add that my lighting is all the same as last time...only water change routine is different.

i think maybe it's the lighting and nutrients too.. mine under intense light reproduce very fast and the roots grow fine and nicely.

did you have more water change or higher percentage of WC ?
thought frogbits absorb with the roots directly from the water.
So if your WC routine changed, it could have impacted them quit abit.

Mine growing well (not as fast as salavnia though)

Another is temperature. my frogbits grow and spread much faster in my cooler CRS tank than my other tanks without a chiller running.

Also running a fan for some reason retards their growth, probably dehydrating them.

    1) amount of N in the water affects growth – more N faster growth
    2) Bright lights but insufficient N actually stunts growth
    3) Cold water growth slower than warm 28° water if both contain same amount of N
    4) If they are floating all over the place, growth is slower, roots are shorter. Corral some in one corner to prevent it floating around and see for yourself. The longer and more root hairs it has, the more phenomenal the growth.
