    Shentake,
Grindal worms are high in protein and fat; good as a supplement for conditioning but not good if it's the only food you feed. Like humans, fishes will also be healthy if they have a varied diet. As I've said elsewhere, tubifex isn't all that bad if you clean and purge it well.

If space allows, why not venture into daphnia/moina culturing or vermicomposting?

    Frans,
Vermiculturing and vermicomposting refers to the same thing and I've answered your post here.

To start or not to start, that is the question! With information so widely available, where to start is not the problem you perceive it to be. One can order from live-culture houses, fish clubs/societies, purchase from or swap with fellow hobbyists (including overseas forum members), Aquabid and possibly even Ebay!

Information-wise, the 'search this forum' function at AQ does work and much has been shared, with discussions on various live-food culturing; microworms, Walter worms, grindal worms, moina, daphnia magna, paramecium, rotifer and even green-water.

You just have to read deeper and try harder.
