Is there any water softener currently in the lfs? Would like to reduce mine is like 10 deg. Water changes don seems to help unless I change the substrate.
    Waiting for your recomendation. Thanks.
Everything should be made as simple as possible...but not one bit simpler.

GH of 10 isn't bad at all..you need them for plants. Mg/Ca (GH) are what plants need.

S'pore water has GH 2-3. Gh 10? U have been adding things to your water column? Any way, GH 10 still OK, like Peter said.

I guess you are using coral chips/equivalent as substrate. Like Peter Gwee said, GH 10 is OK. However, if you insist, try this:
    1) avoid filter's water current at the substrate
    2) increase KH, so that you can get CO2 level at neutral water. Like KH 6~8.

    Hi Taz,
I use API water softener pillow to soften the water to about 3dg. The pillow is vey effective.
