I have this 3 x 2 x 2ft tank , 10mm all round. There 3 support on top of the tank. There are 4" width on left and right and 7" in the center. Would like to remove the centre piece for easy access and better light penetration. Pls advise if it is save to do so. I have water filled up 20" height.

Do NOT remove it. It is there to make sure the middle of the front and back glass do not bend outwards.

The pressure of the water pushes the walls outwards. Long pieces like the front and back pieces bend more and the middle brace (what you call support) are there to prevent the bending.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
