    HI Bros out there,

I would like to check with you all a few questions.

Q1. Will medications like Furan 2, Befuran etc kill the "good bacteria" housing in my Cannister filter?

Q2. Will the external bacteria (velvet, muscus like thingy, fin rot etc)attacking on my fishes be found lingering in my cannister filter mediums?

Q3. After the fishes have recovered from the bacteria, i shoud dump a bag of carbon into the cannister filter to remove the bacteria and harmful stuff. How long should i leave the carbon inside before disposing it?

Q4. Must i wash the mediums like eheim substrate, ceramic rings, sponges etc after the my fishes recover from the fin rot, velvet disease?

Thanks for reading and answering in advance!

i no expert, but think your questions should be within answerable logic.
    1. furan 2 will kill all bacteria whether in the filter or in the fish if your bacteria is susceptible to it.
    2. think you just need change all the water in stages to get rid of the aftermerth of your war with the bacteria, no need to add carbon.
    3. should wash your media same way as you do your cannister maintainence, and no need extra to wash away after your treatment. you cannot possibly wash every speck of your medicine. afterall, most medicine will deteriorate with time.
hope this will clear some of your doubts.
    cheers.
