green neon more suited to a not-too-bright tank, their colours are more subtle.----------------

wow nice pix of the green neon, simon.
Its not very common is it, havent seen it at any LFS. But it will look fantastic in a group.
Just a tangential question:1) do tetras of different species school together?
2)is 6 too small an amount for schooling behaviour to occur?
2 of my neons seem to stick to each other quite abit, but the whole group of 6 never school together one. a bit disappointed. Does the presence of a bigger fish help induce schooling behaviour?
its not that uncommon but you may not have realise it is NOT a faded cardinal Gan usually got A LOT!

Schooling- Never attended any fish school [] but from what I've noticed, fish of the same species normally school together. Those single individual will eventually join the club & school with them. 6 is enough to form a school. Bigger fish to induce schooling behaviour? If the bigger fish is ferocious, I think they will duck for cover! Otherwise not likely.

Yellow tail Congo hougang ave3 blk 108 Fish Corner have a few I think, donno still have or not? I think the normal Congo looks alot better than the yellow tails.
Nobody likes big tetras like pacus? They school also. Saw four in a pond schooling.
Live and let live, stop using life feeds.
i think the 'official' count for a real school is 7.
But they chose to swim side by side and will follow each other.
Live and let live, stop using life feeds.
I think to certain extend, bigger fish will induce that behavior. Its just normal survival instinct. Horses and zebras 'schools' and forms protective rings to fend themselves when in danger too.----------------

Humans in a robbed bank also stay close together when taken hostage, don't they? Just hoping that they wont stand out and be singled out. (extreme example...)
