By accident saw paludarium set=u in internet. I realy like them. Thinking of setup one. After much searching and reading, have few questions to ask.
1. Will the land area breed mosquito or other type insect if only fish is in the set-up?
2. As compare with planted tank which is easier to maintain.
3. Is algae growth on land a norm?
4. Is 55W PL light X 2 sifficient?
5. I have one low maintenace tank with just palm peat and activated carbon chips, plant and fish (Platy) are doing well, hence thingking to use palm peat mixed with activated charcoal as land, don't have to worries about contaimination of water from land area to water area. Any issue that I need to look for?
6. How to make the coco peat / cocnut hush stick to the foam in the background?
7. What can be used to hold the rockss togahter?
8. Is the normal cement that used for construction save to used?
9. If used rock to construck only, what is the maximum weight the tank can take. (3 x 2 x 2 ft, 10mm all side)

Hi,
1- If you won't let any flies or mosquite in your tank they wont.
2- Planted tank.
3- Air circulation (with pc fans) will solve most of your problems.
4- Depends on your variety of plantation.
5- You may add some potting soil also.
6- Silicone will do.
7- Silicone will do that as well.
8- I have tried it earlier and have not faced any problems.
9- You can make artificial rocks with styrofoam and acrylic paint instead.
You can go and search some topics on dendroboard.com . It will help a lot.
