    I am a little confused on the listed content of TMG:
    K - 0.79%
    Mg - 0.39%

    The stated dosage is 5ml for a 50L tank.

    Assumption 1 - The content above is based on undiluted solution
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    K = 0.79% * 5 ml = 0.0395 ml
    Dilute that in 50L and you get
    K = 0.0395 ml / 50L = 0.00079 ml/L = 0.00079 ppm

    Assumption 2 - The content above is based on diluted solution
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    K = 0.79/100 * 1,000,000ppm = 7900 ppm

    Both way off the recommended K of 20ppm.

    Where have I gone wrong?

    Here:

    0.79% = 0.79% x 1g/mL = 0.0079g/mL = 7.9mg/mL

    5mL gives 39.5mg

    When dosed into 50L,
    gives 39.5/50 mg/L = 0.79mg/L = 0.79ppm

    I do not think TMG is suppose to be a significant source of K or other macronutrients. It will provide all the micronutrients though.

    Thanks for the calculations.

    It appears as though we need to provide most of the macronutrients - N, P, K, Mg, Ca - even though we are dosing TMG, especially in a non-fish tank.
