Found this parasite sticking itself onto the goldfish body!

Dunno if it comes from the tap or from the source.
Imagine this thing come from the tap and you drink down the water...

heee.. two little black dots on the top is the eyes and the red part is the centre of the legs. .......imaging it is in our body swimming around in the tummy..............HHHHeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Nah...won't come from taps lah...chlormine is added in a good concentration that it will continue to kill bacteria along its way from the water treatment plant to your home. Most likely source is from your newly added fishes or plants (do you have them??).

Pipsqueak, that parasite is about 2mm. And I think it comes directly from the LFS.

BTW, it's a very fast swimming parasite.

Peter, the parasite was already attached onto the goldfish when we first bought back. It was not suspected as it looked like somekind of patches which was initially thought to be somekind of marking on the goldfish.

It's only one day when my colleague realised that that marking had shifted it's position from the fin to the tummy area that he tried scratching it.

We were surprised that the marking actually swam away and we realised it was a parasite. No wonder the goldfish looked quite sick.

    That's a fish lice.

If there's once, there a very high chance there's more. Check under the gills.

Qurantine the fish immediately to prevent it from spreading.

    Good luck!
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
