please share methods of how you quarantine your newly bought plants.

by the way, if there are pesticides, medication on the plants, can running active carbon through the water absorb it?

    Re: quarantining plants

    there are 3 methods

1st is cheap its using ALUM( pickling spice) and water, I always use 2tbsp of alum to 1 gallon of water.

2nd is bleach, yep quick bleach dip, 3-5 glugs per gallon of water

3rd is a pomegrante dip, something about this being a water human pool supply, kills all fauna doesnt harm the flora.

I have a tank set up JUST for plants to show growth in before they go in my main tank. I got some duckweed and ended up( mind you its a empty cycled tank with only MTS in it) with 2 new fish, 1 new ramshorn and a ton of cynobacteria, I can see the bacteria with my naked eye, it looks even more fascinating at 60x zoom, but this was the ONLY plant I did not dip and well my 15g is empty completely now and I am throwing away all contents and having to start fresh.

Good luck, any questions feel free to message me, I got pics of the products and DIY info on how to use them.
