can any bro here tell me whether to set my surface skimmer on water level suckion (suck water from the level surface through the inlet pipe) I'm using a external filter Ehiem 2226 or should I suck through bottom level ?????

The problem I face is that when I suck water through surface, the water surface is perfectly clean and Co2 oil are all drain to the inlet pipe, very ideals RIGHT ???

But if I set it this way there are lot of movement on the surface and my riccia are not able to bubble.....

But if I set from bottom level (suckion from bottom) my riccia will start yo bubbles...... But the water level are oily which made me very unconfortable...

So can any one know how you all set the surface skimmer...

Been asking lot of LFS , some said surface, some said bottom, some said no different ?????

    Thanks

the reason u have a surface skimmer, well... is to keep your surface clean.

The problem I face is that when I suck water through surface, the water surface is perfectly clean and Co2 oil are all drain to the inlet pipe, very ideals RIGHT ???

That's the oily-looking film which is formed by bacteria, clustered for survival reasons and probably scumbs and nutrients leaked from plants.

But if I set it this way there are lot of movement on the surface and my riccia are not able to bubble.....

But if I set from bottom level (suckion from bottom) my riccia will start yo bubbles...... But the water level are oily which made me very unconfortable...

Surface skimming do not create such turbulence which can cost much lost of co2. What is your tank size?

LFS that tell you this probably do not understand the purpose of a surface skimmer.

    Thanks
