    Hi guys.
I have decided to include a "non-cichlid" part to my Lake Tanganyikan Cichlid website - part of it will be plants (if there is any?). Does anyone know of any species of plant that is grown in lake tanganyika? Introduced or native.
Anyone know of any? Any info? Pics? Links? anything?![]

    Sorry Mez,

can't think of any... besides any plant in there would get whacked by the cichlids would it not?

You'd probably do better to search the net for it, or do a search for plants which thrive in hard water... cuz that what they would have to deal with if they survive the cichlids.

So far, all the lit on the web I've read list Vallisneria. The lake has very little flora, most of which are along shallow sandy beaches.

Plants in rift lake tanks looks very out of place, even if they are Tangayikan plants. Best plant for rift lake is still algae.

    Guys,
I do not plan on putting plants in my tanganyikan cichlid tank, it is for a section on my website.
    Thanks for the help!
